How articles are written
Every guide on ShiftResume is planned around a specific reader problem ("how do I show agency nursing shifts without looking like a job-hopper?") and written to answer it fully on one page. Worked examples use fictional people with realistic Australian details; annotations explain the reasoning so readers can apply the same decisions to their own material. We do not publish scraped, spun or keyword-swapped content, and we do not pad articles to a word count — length follows the topic.
Sources we rely on
Where a guide states a requirement or rule, it is checked against the body responsible for it. Our standing source list includes:
- AHPRA and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia — health practitioner registration.
- NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission — NDIS worker screening and provider obligations.
- Fair Work Ombudsman — Australian employment types, casual conversion and workplace rights.
- Safe Work Australia — work health and safety context.
- SEEK Career Advice and Workforce Australia — Australian application conventions and job seeker resources.
Articles cite their sources in a Sources section at the foot of the page. If a claim cannot be verified against a source like these, we phrase it as general practice ("many employers…", "recruiters commonly…") or leave it out. We do not publish invented statistics, studies or quotes.
Examples and fictional content
All resume examples on this site are illustrative works created for teaching purposes. Names, employers and dates are fictional; any resemblance to a real person is coincidental. Readers must adapt examples with their own genuine information — submitting another person's experience, or experience you don't have, is misrepresentation.
Corrections policy
Requirements change: registration standards are revised, screening rules are updated, and workplace law is amended. We review pages when we learn of a change, update the content, and refresh the "Last updated" date shown on the page. If you spot an error or an out-of-date requirement, tell us via the contact page with a link to the current official source if you have one. Factual errors are corrected as quickly as we can verify them; we don't silently leave known errors in place.
Advertising and affiliate disclosure
ShiftResume is free to read and is funded by advertising and affiliate relationships. Some articles may contain affiliate links: if you buy a product or service through one, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships never determine which examples we publish, what advice we give, or how we describe a requirement. No employer, recruiter or advertiser can pay for placement in our guides or examples.
General information only
Content on ShiftResume is general career information for Australian job seekers. It is not legal, migration, financial or professional advice, and it does not replace the official guidance of regulators or employers. Always confirm current requirements with the relevant authority — particularly registration, screening and licensing, which are enforced by state, territory and national bodies.
